I love this place!! Their food and service is always so good. I usually request Cathy as our waitress, she's the best!! We normally go on Friday or Saturday nights and wait no longer than 15-20 mins to be seated when they are busy!! All of their food is pretty good and the older mexican guy that bartends makes a mean Cadillac margarita and piña colada!!

My chicken enchilada wasn't that great. However I have come here many times for lunch without a problem. The service was extremely quick and the food is reasonably priced. Based on my experience, the food seems better at lunch time. However I do look forward to coming here on a Friday or sat evening, as I have yet to try anything from their bar. I will definitely update this review should that prove to better my experience.

I have been coming to this restaurant for 30 years, and it has always been one of my favorites. I recently got married and took my stepson to try it a couple months ago, and we were sorely disappointed. I took my husband here yesterday, and it was even worse. I am so disappointed because the food used to be so good, and now the only thing that has flavor is the salsa. I don't know if they've hired a new cook or something, but something has changed and not for the better.

My parents love this place and they've taken me here a couple times. To be honest though, everything I've ever ordered was mediocre to nauseating. Everything is just drenched in this really bland chile sauce with lots of cheese on top. The fried ice cream is made with dollar store ice cream and whipped cream. Every time I've ate here I leave feeling sick and unfulfilled. The service is not that good either. It's not worth it to me to eat here even if it's free. To each their own.

So this mexican restaurant isnt mind blowing amazing but it gets the job done, I always get a shredded beef chimichanga with a side of rice and beans. The service is a little slow but the sassy waitress makes up for it with her humor and wit. This seems like a family establishment where there's alot of regulars, I would put it a notch above say a la frontera or la fountain. Will defiantly be returning.

First time here in 10 years. The Chile Verde was amazing. Way way better than any other place of been too. On the other hand the service was not so good. Took them more than 15 minutes to seat us. Took forever for the server to take our order. Couldn't get a drink refill until she brought us our check. All in all I would probably go here again

Ok, I have eaten here for over 16 years now and every time the food was consistent. I love there cheese enchiladas with there chips and salsa. We have always had good service and we have ordered take out a lot from here. Well the last time we ordered, it was disgusting, I couldn't believe it, after eating here for so many years with excellent food, it was disappointing. I was very sad, because this is my favorite restaurant to eat at and to have bad food that was so bad that you don't want to go back is sad. The sauce for the enchiladas tasted old, like so old it was brown and not red like the original sauce, my husband and I both spit it out and threw it away, and it was an expensive meal to chuck in the garbage. Oh, heart breaking One day we will go back, and I pray that there food is better.

Even though this is the "west side" location, I'll play along. By far the least memorable Mexican food in Draper... The Mayan is in Sandy, right? Okay then. Good service and a clean dining room bring my review UP to 2 stars. The food here is the most bland, Americanized, boring meat and cheese ever to grace a tortilla with their presence. The salsa is runny and absolutely heatless. Th food is good quality, but it is just so uninspired that I can't imagine ever going back again.

Ok Mexican food. Nachos Grande are huge and my favorite so far. Chili Verde is very mild. It has a touch too much cinnamon for my tastes. The restaurant looks clean and tidy, but we haven't eaten in the restaurant yet. We've had take-out several times. Front desk has always been friendly. All in all, ok mild "gringo" food.

This is a great Mexican restaurant! Their weekday chile verde burrito deal is a great value. I am a regular. I am not alone. If you are in the area, this is the best place to go. Bar none

Went for lunch. Had the Chili Verde Burrito and tea. The chili was excellent. Great flavor and spicy like I enjoy. Perfect flavor to heat ratio. I was told it varies day to day. One of the party said it was just a a bit spicier than he likes. The price was very reasonable as it was a lunch special. The tea was not very good. Tasted old. Bleck! I drank water. I was happy.

By far the best Mexican food in Draper. This family owned restaurant is a staple in our lives. Their signature dish, the "Chicken Acapulco" is simply AMAZING! Great Margaritas and service that is second to none makes this a perfect place to eat with a large or small group. Everyone that we take there instantly falls in love.

I love this place. The sauces are made from scratch, the chicken Acapulco is awesome. This is a good old fashioned family owned restaurant. The recipes are Agnes's from growing up in New Mexico.

Eaten here many times over the years. Today's visit was fantastic. Prompt and friendly service with steamy delicious food. Mom had the flautas lunch special--fried perfectly, and with a nice amount of shredded beef and melty cheddar. My chili verde burrito was also great. Unlike another reviewers comments, I have found the chile verde to be consistent--plenty of pork and chile chunks, and medium spice level. This is a nice sit down restaurant, and I think some reviewers wrote about a different restaurant in Draper. We had fun talking to the owner about our experiences there 20 years ago, when they had a Mariachi band on the weekends.

It's been three years since my last review and sit down visit. I've ordered take out from them a few times and it has been fine. We like their food. This visit we came because of a gift card that someone gave us. We arrived on a Saturday night at around 5 pm. It wasn't busy at all, but we had to wait a bit to be seated. The hostesses seemed preoccupied with their cell phones, and kept showing each other something and giggling. Finally when their seemed to be a break in something they were looking at, we were seated and given soda's and chips. That's were it ended. We sat 40 minutes waiting on someone to take our order. I got up at one point and refilled our chips from the wait station. I asked a passing server twice if they could send our waitress to take our order and both times she acknowledged she would, but never saw anyone. I asked a hostess if we could get some service, to which she rolled her eyes, made a deep sigh, and said, "yeah sure." We walked out.... Their food is good. But will they ever figure out the service thing? Gordon Ramsey would have a ton of "F" words to say if he ever ate here....

Love this place! Great food. The lunch specials are a great value. Tasty chips and salsa. The shredded beef enchiladas supreme is a great very filling meal. Fajitas are a family favorite.

I ordered a la carte because a simple bean and cheese burrito meal wasn't on the menu, but it was huge and delicious! Going a la carte is always a bit more expensive, but it was worth it since I know I like it. My husband had a meal and said the enchillada wasn't that great. Good food, adequate service, good prices.

While the food was good the service was atrocious. I've been here three times and all three times the service was really bad. From the hostesses passing over us and then saying they thought we were there to pick up food so they didn't seat us, to a non-existent server it's just not worth it. The food isn't that good to pay to be ignored.

I have no words to describe this place, the "salsa" tasted like ketchup with pepper, the taco shells were store bought and the meat was dripping with grease.....simply horrible.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
